The objective of this program is to provide a platform for business’s to complete all qualifying criteria in preparation for full ISO9001 accreditation. ISO9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organisations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The program also serves as a foundation for embedding a Continuous Improvement Culture within a business. The program usually covers a period of 8 months and splits the work into 4 phases, this is to ensure a robust implementation that minimises disruption to the business and employees, whilst at the same time maximising any Continuous Improvement opportunities that may arise.

How do we get there?
Phase 1 – Scope, Strategy & Gap Analysis
Phase 1 concentrates on the communication and business planning element of ISO9001. This is to ensure a full understanding of the standard, business commitment and support required. A high-level overview of ISO9001 requirements will be rolled out across the company to help set direction and vision of the initiative. Hansei Technology will support and guide the business in the construction of the 2018 Business Plan and Policy, clearly defining Scope of work. Once the strategy is set a full ISO9001 Gap analysis will be carried to allow planning of further phases. It is envisaged that phase 1 will be completed over a 4-day period, 3 days dedicated on site and 1 further day off site collating the detailed accreditation timing plan.

Phase 2 – Information Gathering
Phase 2 is divided into 7 key sections, those are detailed on the left. Each section will take approximately 2 days to complete, the plan is scheduled over a 4-month period, equating to about 14 man days’ work on site per month. As the Gap analysis is completed this part of the plan may well reduce or increase based on findings, there may well also be opportunities for the business to complete some the phase 2 work themselves, again this will become more evident during the gap analysis.

Phase 3 Documentation Control
Phase 3 will concentrate on the collation of all standardised documentation, categorisation into a document control system and central storage on a cloud based SharePoint system. Storage is required in this way to ensure documents can be easily accessed and retrieved by anybody in the organisation. The system will need to have clear ownership and accountability within the business to ensure there is an element of control and flexibility. It is estimated in our experience that Phase 3 will take 3 – 5 man days to complete, this would be confirmed upon successful completion of phase 2.

Phase 4 Audits & Accreditation
Phase 4 will consist of a final audit, to be carried out by Hansei Technology prior to accreditation audit. Any snagging points identified can be addressed during this phase. We would then look to engage with the external accreditors to audit and issue ISO9001:2015 Accreditation.
